Belfast International Airport is one of three in Northern Ireland to have been highly praised for it’s ‘excellent’ care given to those with a disability. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) gave recognition to Belfast International, Belfast City and City of Derry Airports as well as ranking them all within the top 10 of the whole of the UK for their services to the disabled.
A spokesman from Belfast International Airport said that the ranking was a reflection of the hard work put in by staff. “We have worked extremely hard over the last number of years to drive improvements in this service…” he told the Belfast Telegraph.
The three Northern Irish airports are the only UK airports to achieve such consistency in disability service excellence. Manchester Airport was awarded a “Very Good” ranking from the CAA.
With Belfast International doing such a good job for their disabled passengers, we could understand if there was a surge of disabled passengers choosing to travel with them. If you do choose to travel from Belfast, please visit our Special Assistance page for all of the advice you need! We’d also love to hear from you, so leave us a comment with your experience.
Let’s hope this sends a wave through the rest of our UK airports and they all follow suit!
